The next task was about how skills are utilized in a business, separated into industry specific skills, general skills and attitudes & characteristics

Industry specific skills:Describe how these are valued by employers:
Technical knowledgeTechnical knowledge is valued as it means that an employer needs to do less training to bring you up to speed. It also means that an employer can have you trained to a higher level sooner.
Working procedures and practicesHaving good working procedures and practices means that again less time needs to be spent on training, it also means that an employer can have confidence in their employee.
General skills:Describe how these are valued by employers:
CommunicationGood communication means that any problems or confusion in the requirements of the work can be addressed quickly.
Planning and organisation skillsThis allows for good time personal time management which is essential to independent work that means work can be done to the established timescales.
Team working skillsWhen assigned to work within a group you need to be able to work well in that group as your team will have been assigned a task suitable for that size of group to complete so it is essential to work with your team
Creativity skillsIf an individual is not confident then they will be unable to push their ideas and be assertive within a team or as a team leader
Attitudes and characteristics:Describe how these are valued by employers:
LeadershipBeing able to lead a team is extremely valued by employers as an individual rises through the ladder as it means they lead their team through their assigned work effectively and produce a high standard of work
ConfidenceIf an individual is not confident then they will be unable to push their ideas and be assertive within a team or as a team leader
Self-motivationSelf-motivation is essential as without it you end up not completing work within a timeframe given or not producing a high standard of work.
