I set out to create a short animation focusing on the four elements (Earth, Fire, Air & Water). I feel I have achieved this by telling a story of a young dragon flying through the Elemental Planes.
I feel my greatest achievement was the creation of my dragon fly cycle. I was proud of this so I was able to use it at several points during the animation
Part of my planning was to utilise what I’d already been taught to create basic motion of the animation and creation of the interaction button, this was a complete success as I managed to create my animation only needing a brief refresher after I returned from illness. I sought to acquire assets to add to my animation like sound effects, voice overs or music while giving appropriate credit to the creator of the assets, I again feel I have managed this as I had someone I know do the voice over narration and gave credit for all the vector graphics I used within the animation.
One of my aims was to improve my drawing ability which after some time of not feeling confident in my drawing ability I am now satisfied with my drawings that I made for my animation. Another aim was to gain skills in the Adobe Suite with a focus on Adobe Animate, In the final parts of the animation I was working independently to input the audio and make it stop with the next scene. I also aimed to improve my time management and organisational skills, I planned to take at least three weeks with each scene to create a high quality animation but due to being hospitalised for 2 weeks and then having another 4 weeks to properly recover enough to resume work I had to rush a lot of scenes and had to recycle assets where I would have like to make more and remove aspect that I wanted that would have taken significant time to produce.
In the future I would like to work in a team to create an animation so that the areas I struggle with, like drawing, can be allocated to someone with better drawing ability. I would also in the future try and create all assets in house either by myself or by someone in my team to not face any difficulties with copyright. I would add more detail to my drawing as this time I was rushed due to having reduced working time.
