Professional Practice: Portfolio Planning

In today’s lesson we looked at the way we want our future portfolios to look.

I started on Miro and took five 16:9 frames and used them as my base to organise my plan and named four of them the titles of my pages: Homepage, Blog, About Me and UAL Games Dev course. I also created a small mood board of portfolios I like.

For my Home page I put the logo I had previously created in Photoshop and put some rectangles to be placeholders for site features and headings. I designed this page to draw people in and have links to other pages and features of my portfolio.

For my Blog page I had a idea for a scrolling wheels of posts to be eye catching and colour coded for ease of use.

For my About me I wanted one side to be hard and soft skills about me as well as references and testimonials. The other side I want to have a personal statement and information about me.

For my UAL Games Dev page I want to have my units as clickable links that show snippets of my work and a larger link for the Final Project. I also want a quick breakdown of the course for anyone thinking of taking a similar course.

Finally I added a few sticky notes to note ideas I need to look into like could I build it and if not who could and how much it cost and that certain parts need to be kept updated regularly like by blog and CV.
