Unit 8: Packaging attempts, an Open Evening and major write ups

Having finished the production of my game I set out to package my game and found I kept on getting errors, unknown errors. I searched for a solution and tried many fixes including updating Visual Studio, updating the Windows SDK on my PC. In the end someone noted when looking through my output log that one of my folders was called Android, which I learnt is a restricted folder name due to the Unreal Engine being able to compile for the Android platform. After changing the name of this folder the game compiled.

We had an open evening at the college. I set up my game to give visitors the opportunity to play it. I also prepared a quick survey of only three questions accessed by a QR code on the desk. I proceeded to invite people to play my game throughout the evening and got a few participants but not many.Although the idea was good in practice it did not yield many results. The most important results for me was one young man who played my game and commented that they needed for control support and actually discussed with me how I could add controller support. He suggested that you use a cursor to identify the monster you want to target with a spell and then that locks on to the monster until you go out of a certain range.

Over the past week I have been writing up a significant portion of my research and analysing areas that I can cut to ensure I complete my project within a timely manner. to this end I have cut certain parts of my research but I have replaced it with something else I could research. I dropped my research on Valheim and proceeded to do some secondary research on effective dungeon crawlers I found a couple of articles but decided on one that discuss the topic in depth and I felt was suitable for my research this was on a website called RPGfan.com. I also finished my write up of super mystery dungeon and wrote a considerable amount for my production page. This resulted in my hyper mobile joints flaring up and having to use a speech to text engine to type some of my work.

I have also proceeded to make a final two week checklist as planned to establish the order of priority tasks and ensure I get everything done that needs to be.
